PHOTOS: The MLB ID Tour Features The Future of PNW Baseball

The future of baseball recently shone brightly at the Mariners Training Center in Columbia City as the Mayor League Baseball (MLB) ID Tour returned to Seattle for its second year. This "pro-style" workout is designed to uncover local gems like Kobe Reese and Cameron Dietrich, who were discovered at last year's tour stop and are now highly-touted prospects in the class of 2028. The event gives these young athletes a true taste of the big leagues, complete with high-speed analytics and mentorship from MLB staff.

The mission of the tour was to remove financial barriers from elite baseball evaluation. While many top-tier camps can be prohibitively expensive, MLB, the Seattle Mariners, and Baseball Beyond Borders (BBB) collaborated to provide this professional assessment completely free of charge. The dedication of BBB founder Bookie Gates and his team has paid off, advocating for and securing this vital exposure for Pacific Northwest athletes like Januel Ozuna, Johnathan Parker, and Kealon Gates.

Catch the full story on the next generation of PNW baseball players coming soon on Back2Besa on FOX 13 Seattle.
