Mariners thump Athletics, 15-3, in last meeting between teams before regular season
In their Spring Training game against their divisional rival, the Oakland Athletics, our Seattle Mariners proved heavily victorious in a 15-3 win at the Peoria Sports Complex. Starting catcher Cal Raleigh slammed a three-run homer in the victory, and tallied three runs of his own.

Bumbershoot Announces Return for 2023, Bumbershoot Workforce Development Program
Today, Bumbershoot: Seattle’s Arts & Music Festival has revealed the 2023 music lineup featuring luminaries from around the globe, Pacific Northwest heroes and the best of emerging music. The 50th annual installment of Bumbershoot will take place September 2-3 at the iconic Seattle Center campus, boasting a previously announced eclectic arts program and now an equally varied musical lineup that includes indie rock, punk, soul, folk, dance and more.
New Mural Honoring Seattle Healthcare and Youth Education Icons Unveiled
Wednesday was a day of celebration in South Seattle, as a new mural honoring the lives of the founders of Tiny Tots Development Center, the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic and Seattle Children’s was unveiled.
The women who were honored—Odessa Brown, who fought for children’s health and the namesake of the pediatric clinic, Helen Hicks, founder of Tiny Tots, and Anna Herr Clise, founder of the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital now known as Seattle Children’s – all touched the lives of countless Seattleites over decades.

New Art Panels by Local Artist TR Miles Unveiled at Skyway Park
T.R. (Troy) Miles has been creating art for more than 40 years—and he’s not about to stop any time soon, with projects coming up in several parts of Seattle.
Miles produces public art in the form of murals, but he also creates fine art for galleries.
“This piece, appropriately, is called Sunshine. What's more inspiring than seeing kids, as they say, frolicking in the sunshine? People drive by. People see this--this might be the start of your day. This might be the first thing you see,” said Miles.

Marquia Wooten Shares Her Success Story With ANEW and The Seattle Office of Economic Development
Wooten shared her journey as a single mother searching for a career which would allow her to build a legacy and the lifestyle she desired. She said she found ANEW’s pre-apprenticeship program through a friend, and initially doubted whether she could do construction. Beacon Hill Community Rallies to Support Nurturing Roots Urban Farm
Neighbors and community members rallied on Sunday to support Nurturing Roots, an urban farm in Beacon Hill that is facing eviction at the end of the month.
The farm gives free, fresh produce and eggs to more than 500 people annually, and it also provides agricultural education, pots and seeds to many more. Some of the produce also goes to food banks.

In an intense week four matchup, the Seattle Sounders hosted the reigning MLS Champion LAFC that ultimately ended in a goal-less draw. Seattle and their visitors traded near miss chances throughout the course of the 90 minutes and extra time, with the standings points being split at the end of the day.

Seattle Mayor Harrell Announces Preschool Program Expansion
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell announced Wednesday the expansion of the Seattle Preschool Program, a program for low-income residents. He was welcomed to the school by a chorus of children and teachers.
Harrell made the announcement at La Escuelita, a bilingual school in Columbia City, one of the seven new expansion classrooms in the program.
