In their Spring Training game against their divisional rival, the Oakland Athletics, our Seattle Mariners proved heavily victorious in a 15-3 win at the Peoria Sports Complex. Starting catcher Cal Raleigh slammed a three-run homer in the victory, and tallied three runs of his own.

Bel Garcia and Mathew Bermudez from Circling Seattle Sports and Converge Media will be on site at Climate Pledge Arena as the Women's March Madness takes place in the Seattle regional! Today, Bumbershoot: Seattle’s Arts & Music Festival has revealed the 2023 music lineup featuring luminaries from around the globe, Pacific Northwest heroes and the best of emerging music. The 50th annual installment of Bumbershoot will take place September 2-3 at the iconic Seattle Center campus, boasting a previously announced eclectic arts program and now an equally varied musical lineup that includes indie rock, punk, soul, folk, dance and more.

Wednesday was a day of celebration in South Seattle, as a new mural honoring the lives of the founders of Tiny Tots Development Center, the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic and Seattle Children’s was unveiled.

The women who were honored—Odessa Brown, who fought for children’s health and the namesake of the pediatric clinic, Helen Hicks, founder of Tiny Tots, and Anna Herr Clise, founder of the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital now known as Seattle Children’s – all touched the lives of countless Seattleites over decades.

In the first game of the Circling Seattle Sports/Converge media trip to Spring Training, the Seattle Mariners had two players who played the center field position drive in all of their runs while young starting pitcher George Kirby was excellent through five innings.

T.R. (Troy) Miles has been creating art for more than 40 years—and he’s not about to stop any time soon, with projects coming up in several parts of Seattle.

Miles produces public art in the form of murals, but he also creates fine art for galleries.

“This piece, appropriately, is called Sunshine. What's more inspiring than seeing kids, as they say, frolicking in the sunshine? People drive by. People see this--this might be the start of your day. This might be the first thing you see,” said Miles.

Wooten shared her journey as a single mother searching for a career which would allow her to build a legacy and the lifestyle she desired. She said she found ANEW’s pre-apprenticeship program through a friend, and initially doubted whether she could do construction. Now, Wooten has created an impactful career—from operating heavy equipment on construction sites, and inspecting some of the largest construction projects in the city, to using her leadership role as a mentor and Director of the Rise up Program to inspire others to step outside of their comfort zone in pursuit of a more fulfilling life.

Neighbors and community members rallied on Sunday to support Nurturing Roots, an urban farm in Beacon Hill that is facing eviction at the end of the month.

The farm gives free, fresh produce and eggs to more than 500 people annually, and it also provides agricultural education, pots and seeds to many more. Some of the produce also goes to food banks.

In a critical divisional battle, and the last time these teams will face off this regular season, the Seattle Kraken fell to the Edmonton Oilers in a game that continued to display Seattle’s defensive issues.

In an intense week four matchup, the Seattle Sounders hosted the reigning MLS Champion LAFC that ultimately ended in a goal-less draw. Seattle and their visitors traded near miss chances throughout the course of the 90 minutes and extra time, with the standings points being split at the end of the day.

The streets were alive with art this past Saturday as Capitol Hill hosted its monthly art walk. Many of the businesses and galleries in the neighborhood open their doors for the general public to experience what this historic arts district has to offer in the ways of art, performance and the like.

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell announced Wednesday the expansion of the Seattle Preschool Program, a program for low-income residents. He was welcomed to the school by a chorus of children and teachers.

Harrell made the announcement at La Escuelita, a bilingual school in Columbia City, one of the seven new expansion classrooms in the program.
