At the 60th Annual NATAS NW Emmy Awards on Saturday, we gathered to celebrate our film Reconciliation Tour which was nominated for an Emmy in long-form content. Even though we didn’t win, it was a powerful night of reflection that re-affirmed our commitment to telling stories of Black communities nationwide.

The Seattle Sounders continued their recent struggles at home, in a tight one-goal loss to the San Jose Earthquakes in a mid-week matchup. Seattle failed to convert one of their 3 big chances on goal and 23 shots, despite having 2.96 expected goals on the night.

In their second loss in as many days, the Seattle Mariners were blown out by the New York Yankees as the Yankees took the series. A 10-2 win saw Mariners starter Logan Gilbert struggle, ending his outing in four innings while the Seattle bats were only able to push two runs across.

For their third consecutive loss to begin the season, a franchise worst, the Seattle Storm fell to the New York Liberty in Breanna Stewart’s return. Stewie didn’t have much of an impact until the second quarter, and while Seattle fought hard, they couldn’t close the gap after a strong third quarter by the Liberty.
