Storm rally against Lynx falls just short despite Jewell Loyd’s career high 41-point game 

The Seattle Storm dropped their second game this week to the Minnesota Lynx, this time in overtime at home as Jewell Loyd dropped a career-high 41-points on the annual “cousin” game when Loyd’s family came out to support her. It’s another frustrating effort, as Seattle continues to make the same mistakes that we’ve seen all season.

Mariners lifeless offense and poor start by Logan Gilbert result in frustrating series loss to Nationals 

The Seattle Mariners begin their six-game homestand, the last before they host All-Star week 2023, with a series loss to the NL East basement dwellers, the Washington Nationals. The Mariners offense continues to be unwatchable as Seattle played horrid against Patrick Corbin of Washington, who was coming off a 7-run against outing.

On Friday, Champions of Change hosted their annual celebrity basketball game featuring Seattle sports legends. Led by Doug Baldwin, the game featured Seahawks legends, former NBA All-Stars, WNBA players, mascots and more. Circling Seattle Sports’ Bel Garcia and Mat Bermudez were there to take in the scenes and connect with some of the Pacific Northwest’s favorite athletes.

Seattle had numerous chances to pull away or slam the door shut, but failed to do so and are left with heightened frustrations as they can’t seem to make things click.

Offensively frustrated Sounders continue to scuttle along in draw to Orlando City 

The Seattle Sounders continue to struggle offensively at a frustrating pace, as they split points with Orlando City SC in a scoreless draw at Lumen Field. Seattle hosted Pride Night, but the Sounders aren't surely proud with their performances as of late considering the struggles on the attack. While differing factors took out several key players, Seattle still had numerous opportunities to find the back of the net and could not.

Gina Brown is a community organizer with the Southern AIDS Coalition. She has worked in the field of HIV for more than 15 years and has been living with HIV for more than 23 years. Gina graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern University at New Orleans, with a Bachelor of Social Work and a minor in History in 2011. She received her Master's degree in Social Work in 2012. Gina is a former member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA). Gina has served on numerous boards and committees. She currently serves on CrescentCare Health’s Board of Trustees.
