Dignity for Divas Opens New South Lake Union Headquarters
Besa Gordon recently visited the new Dignity for Divas headquarters in South Lake Union to learn about how the organization is expanding its approach to women transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
Led by founder and executive director Nikki Gane, Dignity for Divas is committed to empowering women who have moved into temporary or low-income permanent housing, providing a year-long foundation of wellness, trauma response education, and comprehensive support.
Inside the Diva Dream Academy, Gordon found that the focus is holistic and rooted in positivity. Through the program, women engage in transformative activities designed to rebuild every aspect of their lives. This includes mommy-and-me cooking classes, financial literacy workshops with partners like KeyBank to teach budgeting and open checking accounts, and self-care and wellness sessions.
The journey doesn't end with housing; Dignity for Divas ensures its graduates have a pathway to professional self-sufficiency through its new headquarters, which houses a paid internship program. Dignity for Divas is giving women the tools they need to secure their future and realize what is truly possible.
