From Lagos With Love: Nigerian Hyperrealist Olumide Oresegun Makes His American Gallery Debut in Seattle
TASWIRA, a cultural art gallery and event space in Seattle's Pioneer Square owned by Avery Barnes, opened an exhibit featuring the work of Olumide Oresegun in 2024.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Olumide is recognized as one of Africa’s top contemporary hyperrealists. His acclaimed art has been displayed in prestigious places across Africa, Europe, Australia, France, and Dubai, and is included in collections such as Sotheby’s Auction House and the Vatican.The exhibit in Seattle was noteworthy as it is the first time his work was represented by a gallery in America.
