It all started in 2023 when the first HBCU Swingman Classic took over T-Mobile Park, marking a turning point for Seattle baseball and Black representation. The event was a moment where the culture, the community, and the legacy of HBCU baseball officially took center stage and proclaimed the unprecedented demand for HBCU spirit in Seattle. 

That spark grew into a movement, and now that same energy is back for the next chapter. On Sunday, March 8th, the annual HBCU Seattle Series returns as Jackson State University takes on Seattle U at T-Mobile Park. It’s up to us as a community to recapture the spirit of the Swingman Classic and support representation in baseball on the biggest field in the Northwest.
