Converge co-founders Erik Kalligraphy and The Big O recently attended the 2026 Black-Owned Business Excellence (BOBE) Symposium at the Seattle Public Library main branch. Aimed at addressing the significant challenges facing Black-owned businesses and honoring Black business owners and allies in the region, the Symposium introduced a new agenda centered on long-term business viability. 

The Big O recently sat down with Appollonia Washington, co-owner of 4 Apple Learning Center and Today’s Central, to discuss her 36-year legacy of serving the youth in the Central District. Washington is known for helping build the future of the CD, and her commitment to her longstanding familial legacy in the neighborhood. Offering classes ranging from STEM, art, fitness and cooking, she is committed to meeting every child’s unique needs.

“The Big O Show” recently hosted Tyrah Majors, a multi-hyphenate media powerhouse, two-time Emmy award-winning journalist, and anchor for ARC Seattle.
